Master of Science in Information Systems

The Program

This programme is designed for graduates of other disciplines who wish to acquire up-to-date knowledge and skills in IT so that they can authoritatively participate in any aspect of information systems development within an organization. This programme also provides an avenue for participants to embark on a modern lucrative IT related career.

M.Sc. in Information Systems is designed to develop strong technical competence among participants in modern IT practices, and offers a breadth of choice and depth of understanding in the application of IT in a variety of contexts. The programme gives graduates in non-computing disciplines the opportunity to further develop their intellectual maturity as well as adding a new discipline to their portfolios. The programme is very intensive, while being both challenging and stimulating, particularly in technical areas such as Programming and Systems Design.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates applying for the M.Sc. Degree in Information Systems or PG Diploma in IS shall have one of the following qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor of Science Degree in any field from a University in Sri Lanka.
  2. Any Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from a recognized University or institute as approved by SLIIT with relevant experience, where necessary.
  3. Membership of a recognized professional institute in a relevant field as approved by the SLIIT with relevant experience, where necessary.
