CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Rapidly evolving business practices certainly demand more and more specialists in various disciplines, but only those with a holistic view of organizations coupled with an all-round knowledge can survive and prosper in todays’ rough-and-tumble world of commerce.

This is the type of graduate the four year degree programme is designed to produce.

Whether the organization is local or multinational, and whatever the specialization career opportunities abound for specialists with a generalist approach.

SPECIALIZATIONS:

Human Capital Management

People need to be viewed not just as a resource, but rather, as a capital asset available to an organization. Covering the theoretical foundation of HCM, the program provides a sound appreciation of other related business disciplines. It will provide students with the knowledge, skills and social awareness necessary to manage people, whether nationally, or internationally.

Quality Management

Globalization and resulting enhanced competition compels on-going improvement of all aspects of an organization. To thrive in the long-term, a quality philosophy based on continuous improvement is mandated. While providing the theoretical knowledge base required, the Degree Program specializing in Quality Management builds on this solid foundation through a comprehensive input ranging from statistical analysis, and other Japanese inspired techniques to Total Quality Management, within both service and manufacturing related industries.

Accounting and Finance

Knowledge of Accounting and Finance is essential for the sound management of a business. A sound grasp of fundamentals is required to keep pace with the rapid changes and increasing complexity of modern business; especially true for the Accounting and Finance disciplines. The Special Degree Programme allows the student to acquire an in-depth knowledge required by an expert in Finance and Accounting. Electives available in the final year allow a student an avenue for further specialization in a selected field.

Marketing Management

Marketing products and services no longer suffice. Marketers also need to market their respective organizations; a more holistic concept by far. The programme will enable the student to gain an entirely new perspective; viewing the organization and its offers from the point of view of a customer. The special programme will provide the student an in-depth knowledge of the art and science of marketing as is practised in today’s competitive business environment.

Management Information Systems

Rapid improvement of Information Technology has enabled the development of more efficient and effective management techniques. Building on business management inputs, the MIS specialization allows the students to gain up-to-date knowledge on the theoretical and practical aspects of using, developing, and managing information systems. Organizations will increasingly need managers with a sound grasp of the complexities and potentialities inherent within the discipline. There is no doubt that, future managers will need more than a nodding acquaintance with IT; exactly what the program is designed to provide.
