BEng (Hons) Degree in Electronic Engineering
To meet the need for professionals who can cope with the ever-increasing sophistication in the field of Electronics, the Sri Lanka Institute of Technology (SLIIT) and the Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) in the United Kingdom have come to an agreement for SLIIT to offer the Sheffield Hallam University Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering at SLIIT.
The degree is a three-year programme. The first two years of the programme entitle students to obtain a Diploma in Electronic Engineering (SLIIT). After obtaining the diploma, students can complete their final year either at SLIIT or at the SHU campus in the UK, to obtain a B.Eng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering of the SHU.

This degree programme offers a series of subjects that will enable graduate electrical engineers to work in many industries and organizations that use modern electronic technology.
Students will learn the scientific principles of electrical and electronic engineering and how to apply them in designing, creating, testing and improving electronic systems and products, to meet market needs.
